Dunnet Forestry Trust is currently carrying out a scoping exercise for a Long Term Forest Plan for Dunnet Forest, and as a stakeholder you have the opportunity to raise any issues which you feel should be addressed during the preparation of the plan.
A Long Term Forest Plan (LTFP) is a 20 year strategic management plan that brings together the management objectives, the environmental, economic, and social functions and the silvicultural prescriptions into a comprehensive plan to deliver long term benefits through sustainable forest management. You can find more information on the LTFP process and the format and content of plans at https://forestry.gov.scot/publications/132-
The scoping document and accompanying maps which are available for download give a brief introduction to the forest, explain the Trust’s vision and objectives, and outline our main proposed activities and operations.
Jon Hollingdale of the Community Woodlands Association is assisting the Trust with the preparation of the plan. If you have any comments or queries please send them to email@example.com by Friday 15 November 2019.
